The price at the charger: AFIR and price data
Charging prices have long been hard to compare. The EU regulation AFIR is changing that, and Elmer is built on the data AFIR requires.
What AFIR requires
Where Elmer's data comes from
Elmer fetches the operators' data four times a day. The data comes from Dataudveksleren, Denmark's National Access Point run by the Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet), and from the operators' own AFIR endpoints. The Monta platform (e.g. Norlys, EWII and Uno-X), Spirii and several others include prices in their data. Eco-Movement gathers the data for Clever, Circle K, IONITY, Fastned, Allego, Lidl, Q8, Eviny and others, with prices and whether a charger is free. The data is published under the CC BY 4.0 licence.
When the price is missing
Some operators do not include the ad hoc price in their data. For OK, Q8 and Eviny we use the price the operator publishes on its own website. Clever's price depends on the location and the time of day, so we take it from Clever's own charging map. Tesla shares no data at all. We have Tesla's chargers from OpenStreetMap, where volunteers have mapped them, but without a price. The page about each provider says where the price comes from. Prices that are not public ad hoc prices, such as company rates, are not shown.
The price at the charger applies
We fetch prices several times a day, but an operator can change its price at any time. Always check the price at the charger or in the app before you charge.
