Privacy policy

Elmer is built to know as little about you as possible. You do not need to create an account, we do not use cookies, and we do not track what you do on the site or in the app. Here you can read what does happen to your information.

Who is responsible?

Elmer is run by Allan Noer, who is the data controller for the information processed on the site and in the app. You can write to support@elmerapp.dk.

When you visit the site

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. When you open a page, Cloudflare sees your IP address and technical details such as your browser type. This is necessary to send the page to you and to protect it against attacks. We do not use this information for anything else, and we keep no statistics on visitors. Cloudflare is a US company and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

What your browser remembers

If you choose a car, your choice is saved in your browser so you do not have to choose again. The same goes for switching language with the flag. It stays with you and is not sent to us. You can delete it by clearing site data in your browser. Read more under cookies.

Address search

When you type an address in the price guide, the text is sent to Photon, an address search from komoot GmbH in Germany, so you can get suggestions. The address is used to find your grid company and chargers nearby. We do not store it.

Your own meter data from Eloverblik

If you choose to use your own meter data, your browser fetches it directly from Eloverblik (Energinet) using the token you enter yourself. The data and the token are not sent to us, and the token is not saved. When you close the page, it is gone.

The app

The app fetches charging prices and available chargers from our server. When it does, the server sees your IP address, just as when you visit the site. Everything else stays on your phone:

Your location is used to find chargers near you and for navigation. During a trip, the app can use your location in the background. You will see this from the blue indicator at the top of the screen. Your location is not sent to us.
Your car, saved places, recent trips, charging sessions and settings are stored only on your phone.
Routes, maps and address search come from Apple Maps. Apple processes them under its own rules.
If you choose to open the trip in Google Maps, the route is sent to the Google app.
Notifications are created on the phone. We do not send any messages from a server.

How long?

We do not store any information about you. Cloudflare keeps technical log data for a short time under its own rules. Data in your browser and on your phone stays there until you delete it. In the app you can reset learning and delete charging sessions under Settings, or you can delete the app.

Your rights

You have the right to know what information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. As we do not store information about you, the answer will usually be that we have none. If you are unhappy with how we process your information, you can complain to Datatilsynet (the Danish Data Protection Agency) at datatilsynet.dk.

Changes

If we change how Elmer processes information, we will update this page. This page was last updated 12 October 2026.
